A semester on Environmental & Climate Resilience at the University of Bath!
This autumn, from September 2026 to January 2027, the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics (SAMBa) and the Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI), are launching a themed semester focused on Environmental & Climate Resilience. The semester will bring together researchers from across the University to explore how communities, systems, and environments can adapt to the realities of climate change. We will feature a diverse programme of activities designed to spark new cross‑disciplinary collaborations, all with a mathematical or computational thread running through them. We warmly encourage colleagues from any department/school to get involved.
You can get involved by:
- Check out our upcoming events this semester. A number of activities are already in development including IMI’s Power of 3 on 17 September. This workshop supports early‑stage, creative research ideas across faculties.
- If you have an idea for an activity to run as part of the themester (there is funding available), please submit it via the applications
- If you would like to discuss your visit or ideas, please feel free to contact one of the organisers
